THE GLIDAPHONE |

A musician friend of mine Iain McNeill suggested I should include this article on my site. The Glidaphone is an electronic instrument which produces a sound called glissando, this is the ability to glide from one note to another, with a smooth variation of pitch. It uses three integrated circuits a few resistors and capacitors, with a variable resistor controlled by an arm which can rotate through 180 degrees. A picture and a schematic are shown, the exact details with drawings could be provided if required.

Iain reminded me that I had made the instrument some years ago and he had been impressed by it.As he is a first class musician himself he recognised the Glidaphone's potential. He is also skilled in electronics and maintains all his own musical gear. His main hobby is vintage car restoration, here is a picture of a Ford Anglia he has just completed.
